Comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert plus a host of entertainers performed for more than 200,000 people gathered at a "sanity" rally in Washington, D.C, Saturday.

While the two comedians had insisted the afternnoon "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear" on the National Mall wasn't about politics, it came just three days before the congressional elections Tuesday.

An eccentric lineup of stars and musicians graced the stage during the three-hour event, including John Legend, the Roots, the O'Jays, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow and Tony Bennett.

In an unlikely pairing, Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, joined Ozzy Osbourne for a song duel in which one sang folk tunes while the other tried metal songs. They eventually gave up, hugged and left the stage together.

In between acts, the TV comedians performed jokes and sketches.
